# Introduction - What Is This Guide?

## Welcome aboard!

The world of crypto and NFTs can seem overly complex and scary at times. It doesn’t have to be. In fact - you probably already know many of the key concepts, you just don’t know it yet. 

One of the main obstacles preventing people from participating in the crypto space is that the underlying technology is on the bleeding edge and under constant development. Terminology isn’t well-defined and can be confusing to anyone that doesn't pay constant attention.

This guide is being built as a general introduction to the world of Web3.0, Cryptocurrency, and NFTs. It is intended to be read as needed, with each section readable without the context of surrounding sections. Anyone with a basic knowledge of purchasing an item should be able to read the guide and hopefully come away with a better understanding. 

It is not intended to create a developer-level understanding of the underlying technology. It is intended to give a solid knowledge base on how to interact with the technology in a safe manner. 

There are a few concepts that I’ll dig into first. Most people already understand these concepts, even if they’ve never had it cemented into words. If you believe you already have a solid grasp, feel free to skip past these sections in the table of contents.
